Voices of Change

Individuals, both clients and therapists, have spoken up and provided their personal stories of authentic change from homosexuality to heterosexuality in a new website www.voices-of-change.org.

The purpose of the web site is to publish stories about change of sexual orientation, expressed by real people in the United States and elsewhere. Each month, the website anticipates continual updating. Additional stories will appear to add to the evidence about the reality of change. For many years, professional and political organizations have silenced therapists and their clients from speaking about successful change therapy but now the evidence speaks for itself.

The Web site is sponsored by PATH, a non-profit coalition of two dozen organizations that help people with unwanted same-sex attractions (SSA) realize their personal goals for change -- whether by developing their innate heterosexual potential or by embracing a lifestyle as a single, non-sexually active man or woman. Collectively, these organizations have worked with thousands of men, women and youth who are finding peace and fulfillment by resolving their SSA feelings in ways that are emotionally healing, gender-affirming, congruent with their deeply held values and beliefs, and supportive of their individual life goals.

Organizational members of PATH strongly believe that to marginalize and discriminate against any person or group is wrong. The individuals on this web site have been victimized by many. A primary motivation in developing this web site is to give expression to these authentic voices of change.  Those who would try to silence the voices of these people are engaging in the very kind of bigotry they fight so hard against.  The web site has been created in the belief that everyone has a voice that should be heard no matter what one's belief is about the nature of homosexuality.

While scientific evidence, which uses peer-reviewed research methods, shows that change in orientation is possible, this new website will serve to complement the existing scientific research.

To summarize the many voices on the website: most do not believe they were born gay, many claim their path includes a spiritual journey, and most report spontaneous dissipation of homosexual feelings over time with therapy.
